TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for over 10 years with some time spent in middle and high schools, but the majority of my experience is in higher education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that teaching should be interactive and engaging. When I teach in the classroom, I intersperse activities with whole class and group discussions. I believe that you loose students after more than 10 minutes of lecture, so I keep my lectures short and to the point and believe in repeated exposure to a concept in a variety of contexts for retention. I like to bring fun and variety into my classroom to keep my students interested in learning. I don't want my classes to be another hoop to jump through... I want my students to walk away from the experience having learned something that will help them in their future educational and professional experiences.
