TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught kindergarten for seven years. Every August I wonder why, but then we make it through the rough part and I remember why I love it so much!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have an "A-type" personality, so I use a lot of direct-instruction lessons. However, over the years I have incorporated centers and math workstations and have slowly been able to give my students more control over their learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2013, I received a $1800 grant to purchase kindles for kindergarten classrooms.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a bachelors degree from The University of Tennessee Martin in Human Learning K-8. I earned my masters degree in Educational Theory & Practice from Arkansas State University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married for four years and have a one year old son.
