TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Poetry is my passion and my goal is to always incorporate some element of poetry in all that I teach. In my teaching artist life, I have taught poetry, creative writing, and digital media literacy in the city of Chicago to elementary, middle school, and high school youth. I co-coach the YOUmedia Louder Than A Bomb team that represented Chicago at Brave New Voices in 2011. Louder Than A Bomb is Chicago's city-wide youth poetry festival and BNV is the national youth poetry festival. I have worked in both in-school and after-school environments teaching all of the for Chicago organizations such as University of Chicago Charter Schools, Young Chicago Authors, YOUmedia Chicago, Hands on Stanzas, and others.
