3 years of experience teaching and coaching Lego Robotics; mentoring teams, judging middle school level competitions; planning curriculum, guiding students through coding and programming robots, and coordinating presentations. 5 years experience leading Girl Scout troops; planning meetings, guiding outdoor learning experiences, cooking, STEM, arts and crafts, physical education and community engagement badge work.
One of the core values outlined in coaching a Lego Robotics team is that, 'we work together, our coach is there to lead us, but we work together to discover the solution.' Children need to learn by doing, failing, trying again and figuring things out. My teaching style is one where I create the environment for the kids to discover and learn through play and guided activities that introduce them to themes and topics.
