TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist in the schools for the past 17 years. Before that I worked in Early Intervention, Private Practice and hospital setting. Currently, I am working with children in Self-Contained classes and I have been a part of a wonderful program for children on the Spectrum for 16 years. I love working with children and watching them learn and grow.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to have fun! I use the children's strengths to drive my instruction. I spend the first week of school assessing their specific interests and then I design my lessons around what will keep them captivated. I incorporate music, yoga, art, play and literature into my lessons daily. If the student has a need to move around, we move around! Sitting is not everyone's optimal learning posture!

I received my BA and my MA in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from St. John's Univeristy, Queens NY. I also have certification in Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.

I am married with two boys ages 9 and 11. I live and work in a wonderful district. We also share our home with a Beagle mix named "Duncan" whom we adore!
