TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began my teaching at the same college I received my degrees from (Troy University). While finishing my Master degree, I taught one year of Pre-Comp writing classes to college freshmen. From there, I interned at the local middle school teaching 6th grade English/Creative Writing, and then at the local high school teaching 9th grade English/Language Arts. Just before graduating, I was offered my first official public school teaching position and spent the next four years teaching a variety of grades and classes which included: 7th grade Reading, 8th grade English Language Arts, 8th grade honors ELA, 8th grade ARMT prep., 9th grade English Language Arts, 9th grade honors ELA, 11th grade English, AP Language and Comp., 12th grade English, and 9th-12th Drama. When I got married in 2014, my husband and I moved to Colorado, where I taught 10th grade ELA, 11th grade ELA, and Speech and Debate. We moved back to Sweet Home Alabama in 2016 and I was offered the position of Theatre Director in my new town, and I have been teaching (and loving) Intro. to Theatre, Theatre II, Theatre III, and Theatre IV ever since.
