I currently teach 4th grade ELA in Washington, DC, and have previously taught at the 3rd, 5th, and high school level in Michigan, Virginia, and Arizona (gotta love being a military spouse). I have experience teaching in a 1:1 environment, working with ELL/ELD populations, and have taught in public, private, and charter schools!
I am a project-based, collaboration-focused, tech-savvy teacher! I focus on small-group, workshop style instruction, with students working independently and/or collaboratively when they are not receiving "direct instruction."
2011 PRAXIS Recognition of Excellence Educator, 2013 University of Arizona Common Core Collaborative Member

I am a former Navy wife, now helping my husband navigate the waters of college, thanks to the Post 9/11 GI Bill. We currently live outside of Washington, DC in Montgomery County, MD, but are originally from Michigan! We love exploring the city, visiting museums, and attending Washington Nationals games!
