I have taught 7th and 8th grade Spanish for several years. I have also taught level 2 and level 3. In New York, our students take the FLACS A and FLACS B exam (used to be called the Proficiency and Regents) and I have a very high success rate on both. I have also taught level 1 at the high school level which accounts for all students who are either taking a second foreign language or who failed Level 1 at the middle school level from grades 9-12.
I maintain a structured classroom. Students follow the same Do Now routine upon entering the classroom. I am big with providing my students packets that already contain notes and activities. I enjoy playing jeopardy, Kahoot, 5 minute challenges and other games to get the students motivated and learning at the same time. The best thing I can bring to my teaching style is a classroom environment of mutual respect.

I earned a BA in Spanish Secondary Education from St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, NY. I returned there and earned a Masters Degree in Special Education with an annotation in Severe and Multiple Disabilities.
I grew up speaking English and Portuguese. At a very young age I was very aware of the benefits of being exposed to a second language and culture. I wanted to be able to give that back to students who do not have the luxury of that experience in their home.
