I have been a learning facilitator for as long as I can remember. First my own learning, followed by preschool students while I was in high school. When I went to college, I taught Art on a Cart to elementary aged children and worked at the Please Touch Museum; playing and learning alongside young people. Soon after graduating, I became a Mama and have enjoyed both teaching and learning alongside my children. I have three children; ages 10, 7, and 5. We are a homeschool / out schooling family and believe very much in the power of play, experiencing new things, asking questions, and building our toolboxes for big feelings, self-regulation, intention-setting, goal-realizing and self-directed learning.
I fully believe we are all both teacher and student. I believe in learning through PLAY. And think it's particularly important for grown ups to tap back into their own inner playfulness as much as it is for young people to learn by doing. All learning IS learning. No judgment, just love. The Power of YET.
I graduated summa cum laude from Drexel University.
I graduated with Honors from Drexel University in Psychology and Studies of Media Art and Design
While having children I also became an entrepreneur. I make toys! Feel free to check out the wooden and sewn, open-ended play things and connect with us at Mama May I Shop and Jessica Perkins on Facebook and IG ! I have been creating mindfulness and homeschooling tools for years and am looking forward to sharing what has worked for us, with all of you. Thanks so much for coming along for the journey!
