I have been an educator in the public school system for 14 years. I have taught grades 3 through 6 grades. I wear many hats during the day. I am a classroom teacher, a grade level leader, a technology trainer for teachers k-12, and a Reading Intervention teacher after school.
My classroom is warm and inviting. Students are busy with projects and activities. I believe learning should be fun! Learning something new should happen every day, no matter how old we get. Curiosity is a gift and should be encouraged. I believe that instilling a sense of pride for a job well done does far more for a student than anything else--it is very hard to ever be satisifed with something other than your best ever after.
2012 Excellence in Teaching about Conservation, Junior Duck Stamp Program I was honored to be part of the committee in writing the appliction for Distinguished School twice in my career, both in 2003 and 2010

When at home, you can find me in the garden. With 10 acres to maintain, I am always out there. I have a mix of ornamentals and edibles. In addition, I have a horse, a dog, and a flock of chickens. The most recent addition was a large worm bin I built with my husband. I am lucky to live in California where I can garden year round.
