When I first started teaching I taught a mainstream Year 5/6 class for a few years before moving to teaching the Learning Support Unit with students with diverse needs that accesses a personal curriculum and also the wider school program. I taught in the unit for a few years and also took on some short term leadership positions I have now moved on to teaching in a high school designed for students with moderate to severe special needs and I LOVE it!.
I like to think that my teaching style is fairly fluid, changing with what my students need at the time. However the school I teach at promotes systematic instruction.
I have a handwritten award on my fridge that proclaims me to be the best teacher ever...does that count?!
I have a Bachelors degree in Primary Education and a Masters degree in Special Education.
