TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am an American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech-language pathologist. I love to give clients the freedom to communicate their hopes, dreams, wants, and needs during every stage of life!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that good therapists need to be flexible, fun, and evidence-based! I love to use games, but not every session, and I always support them with good therapy materials. I love to organize, and share ways to help you be more organized too!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I achieved an ACE (Award for Continuing Education) from ASHA in 2014, for 70+ CE hours in less than 3 years. That may never happen again, but I'm proud that it happened once!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Exercise Science. I earned my Masters in Speech at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, which is a city near and dear to my heart!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I married an engineer and moved to Pittsburgh, which was a lot different from my Southern upbringing! I see clients through my private practice, Jill Shook Therapy LLC, and create fun, evidence-based materials for you here on TPT! In my "free time", I love to run, bake, snuggle our senior cat named Rocky, read historical fiction, and work on DIY projects around our old house.

TPT

TPT empowers educators to teach at their best.
