Eight years teaching experience in a rural school in Western Canada. Have taught split grade classes most of my teaching career from K-12. I have 3 young children of my own.
I favor a relaxed classroom where students feel free to contribute and work together. I learn along with the students everyday and have long since given up reusing lesson plans and year plans as my teaching duties and classroom needs change so much every year (and always will). Every student is unique and therefore every class is unique. I rely heavily on templates that I can adapt & modify easily and efficiently to the ever-changing needs of my classes and assignments.
Nominated for Edwin Parr, first year teacher award and completed Harry Wong`s First Days of School beginner teacher program.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts major in Communication Studies from the University of Calgary, Alberta, and then continued on with a Graduate Diploma in Education from Adelaide University, Australia.
