TEACHING EXPERIENCE

A former Advertising Account Executive, this is my4th year teaching 10th grade English at Oakland Mills High School in Howard County, Maryland. I teach a diverse group of students from review level (below grade level) to honors (above grade level). I am also involved with an English after school Academic Enrichment program to help students to pass the Maryland State Assessments. Currently, I also tutor students privately outside of school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Most of my students would describe me as the energetic teacher who is always happy! I can't say that's true 100% of the time, but I do bring a lot of enthusiasm into the classroom. Since my background is advertising, I tend to bring real life experiences into my activities which helps to make them more effective. I believe in multi-modal learning styles and try to engage students on many levels. My most successful lessons have involved group collaboration.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
