TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching English, publishing, drama, leadership, and humanities at the high school level since 1996.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style varies from day to day. I enjoy getting students engaged in projects and cooperative learning, but always with a basic understanding of the discipline of working individually. I believe it's very important to start small and build up to the bigger expectations, always incorporating everything we've learned along the way. Nothing that we learn goes away or is forgotten. It's all smaller pieces of the big picture. I love using technology and experimenting with new ideas.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Walla Walla Community College on duel basketball and volleyball scholarships, and then transferred to Eastern Washington University, where I earned my BAE in 1996. I continued my education and earned a Master of Curriculum and Technology Degree from Lesley University in 2000. I have been teaching at Raymond Junior/Senior High School since 1997.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Along with teaching, I currently have several other jobs copy editing, proofreading, and writing book reviews for a small magazine. I love expanding my knowledge and embracing the one-on-one iPad program in place at my school.
