Throughout my 17 years of teaching, I have taught in a wide variety of settings gaining valuable classroom experience. I began my teaching career by completing my student teaching at Sunset Elementary in Issaquah, WA. I then moved on to a private school setting in Newcastle, WA. Since then I have taught in the ever changing suburbs of Houston, TX and in the very rural Marcola, OR. As a result, I have gained a great appreciation for students' cultural diversity and the need for differentiated instruction based on students’ needs and interests.
I enjoy making learning relevant for students and helping them to see the purpose behind the lesson. I seek to make direct connections between the classroom and everyday life.
