My name is Jodi Southard, and I have been a classroom teacher for the past 20 years. I began by teaching K-5 Art for two years before becoming a classroom teacher. I have taught both 1st and 3rd grade, but my heart is definitely in 1st. I began my teaching blog, www.funinfirst.com, in 2010 and started creating educational resources for teachers shortly after. I absolutely love researching and developing educational products that work well in the classroom. I strive to make learning fun, practical, and rigorous for all students. Still being in the classroom every day allows me to fully understand today's students' needs.
I believe in getting my children involved as much as possible with their learning. I want learning to be exciting and for children to love coming to school. My classroom environment is welcoming and nurturing and includes participation and hands-on involvement.
