I have been teaching at South St. Paul High School for fifteen years. I have taught General Biology, International Baccalaureate Biology, and Environmental Science. For the past five years we have been teaching General Biology as an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Science course and completing the Year 5 assessment tasks. I have also spent the last year as an IB Examiner and an IB MYP moderator.
I use tables instead of desks in my classroom which better suites my teaching style. I like to present information in small chunks and then allow the students to use that information in order to gain a deeper understanding. There is a great deal of small and large group discussion in my room along with a great deal of research and writing.
