TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching 6th grade in the Shawnee Mission School District for 23 years. Shawnee Mission is located in Kansas.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Based on my entrepreneurial background, I view my teaching style as that of a facilitator rather than simply an instructor. I feel it is my job to put students in a learning environment which offers differentiated opportunities for each student. I believe each student is able to be successful in his/her own way. It is my job to help each student discover what strengths she/she may posses and how to utilize them to their fullest potential. The saying "My Education Is My Responsibility" has been at the front of my class everyday for the past 23 years, and I feel it sums up my teaching philosophy.
