* Most of my materials are aimed at beginning EFL students in large classrooms; * my work is designed around phonics to build up reading, spelling and pronunciation skills systematically; * early on I like to integrate basic question and answer patterns and simple suffixes; * My biggest influence was the work of David Paul in Hiroshima, Japan, author of the Finding Out series.

I grew up near the beach in Los Angeles, lived in Japan for 15 years, nearly 3 years in Korea and traveled all over Asia. I also lived in London briefly in the early 90's and traveled from Scotland to Italy to Russia (and everything in between). I lived in Shanghai for a few months, GuangZhou for 2 years, Zhuhai for 2.5 years in China and over a year in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Now I am in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Other experience: * 4 karting championships in Japan (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005) and over 20 wins; * briefly raced motorcycles in China; * spent half of 2016 managing a racing team in China (F4, Formula Renault 2.0, LM CN, LMP3); * I currently play in the darts league in Saigon. Interests Kart racing, darts, Belgian beer, Craft beers, movies, red wine, cheese, F1, WRC, MotoGP, football (soccer), stand-up comedy and Vogon poetry.
