Experienced with gifted, on-level and struggling learners, Johanna England Chavez finds joy in helping all students grow in competence and excitement about learning. Johanna has 20 years of experience with children. As a social worker, she taught classes and provided counseling for middle and high school students. A mother of four, Johanna is currently homeschooling her children, teaching co-op classes and teaching English as a second language to children in China. She is passionate about using literature, writing and film to empower students, teach culture and history and create positive social change. The curriculum she creates reflects this passion.
Johanna has a laid back teaching style and enjoys bringing fun and laughter into the classroom. However, she is very serious about the topics at hand. Guiding a child toward success is her ultimate priority.
