I have been an ELA, Theatre, and/or Reading teacher since 1996. I began my teaching career in New York and now teach in Delaware.
My teaching style is very student centered. I design lessons that put the teacher in the facilitator role and let the students discover their own knowledge.
Building Teacher of the Year 2006-2007
I have a BA from Utica College of Syracuse University in English/Education. I received my MS from SUNY Cortland as a Reading Specialist. In addition, I currently hold licenses to teach in New York (7-12 English; K-12 Reading) and Delaware (5-6 English in a Middle School; 7-12 English; K-12 Reading; 9-12 Theatre). I am currently the Instructional Specialist at my school where I work with struggling readers and prepare professional development opportunities for staff in the area of literacy in all subject areas.
I have a son currently writing for an online publication, while living in Boston. My wife and I live in Delaware with our five dogs and three cats. We are active in our local community theatre and direct the fall plays at my school together.
