TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching Sophomore English, Psychology and Sociology at Williamsville High School since the 2012-2013 School Year. I have also taught Western Civ. during the summer at the Lincoln Way School District 4 years starting in 2011; 3 of those years I taught Honors Western Civ.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I typically have a relaxed style of teaching where I give the students time in class to work on reading the assigned materials, and then after they have been given an adequate amount of time to complete the assignment, we discuss the materials in class. When reading plays, I like to have the students take a role and read it aloud in class. For my elective courses, I try to make sure that the material is closely aligned with what is taught at the introductory college level.

I had intended to teach history at the high school level; however, I have learned to appreciate teaching English, Psychology, and Sociology. Luckily, I have been fortunate to teach history over the summer semesters.
