I have six years of high school teaching experience, and the majority of my lessons focus on grammar, writing, and reading comprehension skills. I have chosen to upload only my grammar lessons because they seem to be the most useful for teachers and the most intriguing to students. I have had students reach out to me years later to tell me how much they miss the grammar challenges! I think it's extremely important to learn proper grammar because it ultimately leads to improved writing skills. My goal is to develop grammar challenges for all grade levels that can span throughout the entire school year.
Picture Mr. Keating from "Dead Poet's Society", but throw in alignment to state content standards, specifically common core, and also an emphasis on advanced research and writing skills.
My honors and awards come in the form of verbal praise, smiles, high-fives, and letters from students, parents, colleagues and administrators.
I studied Integrated Language Arts in Secondary Education at Ohio University. I have recently been accepted to grad school and will be using my TpT sales to help pay for tuition.
Summer camp has been instrumental in shaping my educational philosophy. I have learned so much about communication, collaboration, and maintaining positive relationships with students and colleagues by demonstrating leadership in life-guarding, rock-climbing, counselor supervision, planning and scheduling, and going on hikes to commune with Nature. I feel the outdoors have a lot to teach us.
