TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Seven years of college tutoring since the age of 14; ten years of professional secondary teaching in mathematics and physics. Master's Thesis on Irradiance Modeling for Aircraft Application. Master's in Educational Administration. Science Department Chair for three years. Community College Engineering and Physics Adjunct Instructor. California State University Lecturer for Material Science.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Non-American. Costa Higher Level, Bloom's Taxonomy, behaviorist, meta-cognition, bilingual, no spoon-feeding. I love teaching theory along with application. I hold students accountable for their learning. I had my Algebra 2 students working on functions and had them doing Newton difference quotient derivatives by the end of the day. I read math and science education research and am fascinated with the TIMMS. I look to our foreign counterparts for my pedagogy. I don't give homework. My students are successful and can overtake honors students in their depth and knowledge.
