I cannot believe I am already on my fourth year of teaching first grade! I have worked in a high needs elementary school with reduced class sizes of 12 and currently work for a charter school network with 32 in each room! I have experienced the push to drive students beyond expectations in different settings and learning from it every day, each year has taught me more about being a teacher!
Kids come first! I love hands-on, creative learning and the chance to have real experiences. I think students are engaged and more likely to remember their learning this way. I also believe collaboration is a hugely important part of teaching. Hearing what others have been doing and ideas that they have only enhances the students' skills and knowledge. I have followed TpT and other blogs for several years now, so, instead of sharing in my school, I'm going to give global collaboration a try!
