I have been a teacher since 2008. I have taught in a bilingual classroom. I was a reading intervention specialist. I currently teach Spanish for K-6 in a school in the local public school district.
I love to use songs and games in my teaching accompanied by kid friendly interactive notebooks. We spend most of the class period practicing Spanish through songs, games, and authentic conversations.
I have been G.L.A.D. (Guided Language Acquisition Design) certified.
I received my K-8 education certification with a major in reading and Spanish and a minor in ESL from Eastern Washington University. I received my masters in education from Whitworth University.
I was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to Spokane, WA for collage. I have been living in Washington ever since. I love the Pacific Northwest and the great weather it brings. I enjoy spending time with my 3 kids and husband as well as family and friends.
