My name is Josh Withrow, and I am a teacher from Vancouver, BC. I've taught secondary English and humanities for the past 12 years, and in 2012 I received my Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Humanities (English Stream). The focus in my Master's program was childhood literature--particularly the effects that fantasy and fairy tales can have on shaping a child's views of virtue and morality. I write frequently about this topic on my blog www.thewiseimagination.com
It is one of my great joys in life to see good literature shape minds, and it is my desire to share that joy with as many people as possible.
I have spoken at numerous academic and educational conferences about the power that fantasy and fairy tales has on shaping the minds of students, and I most recently had the opportunity to speak on the subject at Magdalen College in Oxford.
