Joshua has been working with children for many years. He has been working at a daycare since 2006 and continues to go back on winter and summer breaks. He started teaching elementary music in 2011 and has high hopes of staying. Joshua provides many outside opportunities for music exploration; giving lessons ranging from guitar to voice, and performing groups. Joshua also works with older kids (middle and high school) through a regional summer camp. He has been a camp counselor and teacher at this camp since 2009.
Joshua's style of teaching is very interactive and high energy. He focuses on student interaction and developing a positive relationship not only with the students, but their families as well. He also works from a standpoint of using as little materials as possible. This helps create a conducive environment of constant music making without relying on materials to distract from the concepts.
