TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently teaching as an Education Specialist in Irvine Unified School District where I work with children with special needs. History: Special Education Classroom Teacher, Seneca Center, San Leandro, CA (2009 - 2011 and 2012 - 2013) Taught a mixed-grade classroom using a curriculum aligned to California State content standards, differentiating to meet the needs of students with a variety of preferred learning modalities and academic proficiency. Utilized positive incentives and a level based privilege system to effectively manage students with behavioral difficulties. Trained Special Education Teachers, Mental Health Assistants, and Teacher Assistants on modifications and accommodations to instruction. Teacher Associate, Seneca Center, San Leandro, CA (2007 - 2009) Assisted in teaching small group instruction in Algebra and Computer Literacy. Documented students behavioral and academic progress with daily treatment notes. Consistently showed versatility by supporting as a mediator and managing student crisis. Provided one on one tutoring for students who were struggling with various academic subjects.
