I am certified to teach preschool through third grade. Over the past 15 years I have taught both first and second grade in high needs and Title One schools. I have extensive experience teaching ELL students and implementing the strategies that help them feel successful in the classroom.
I use reading and writing workshop as the foundations of my literacy instruction. I interweave science and social studies content into my literacy instruction. I believe in making learning fun, interactive, and as hands-on as possible.

I am a mother to two amazing children adopted from foster care. My husband and I were foster parents until recently. I love teaching and can hardly believe I've been doing this for 15 years now! In November of 2013 we moved to the Bahamas for my husband's job for 2 years. I am now staying at home with my preschool age son and supporting my daughter's learning in school. Life is an adventure and my family and I are living it to the fullest!
