I was a classroom teacher for ten years. In those ten years, I taught four different grades, in two different states, and at three grade levels: pre-school, elementary, and middle school.
My teaching style is very straight forward, organized, and methodical. Many of my students were differently abled, so I created assignments that could be tailored to the individual student. As a result, many of my products do not have traditional grading rubrics, or, have rubrics that could be easily adjusted to meet your individual student's needs.
Two of the schools where I taught were National Blue Ribbon schools. One of them earned the distinction partially based on my students' success. In addition, I was personally selected to join multiple committees at the district level and even helped re-write curriculum and pacing guides for multiple levels and subjects.
I received my B.S. in Elementary Education at Kansas State University, and completed 15 graduate-level credit hours. Throughout my teaching career I attended a variety of workshops and training seminars, focusing mainly on ELA, Social Studies, Science, Classroom Management, and Special Education.
I'm currently a stay-at-home mommy with a class of one. It's my hope that while the products I provide will help other teachers to help their students, the purchase of those products will help me to stay home longer with my sweet little boy. He has several health issues, so traditional day care is not an option for us. I'm hoping that through this site, I'm still able to contribute to the many teachers that are working so hard to care for, and, inspire their students. I spent many, many, long hours creating projects, assignments, and activities for my students, and I hope they'll be helpful to others. I always say: There's no need to reinvent the wheel. Just make it the right size for you.
