I believe you must create a physical and emotional environment that is conducive to learning. Building trusting and positive relationships comes first. Engaging the student through collaboration, creativity, music, and movement are all elements that make learning active, fun, and memorable.

Originally from Columbia, SC, I now live in Myrtle Beach, SC with my husband. I have two grown-up sons (literally speaking only) and 3 young grandchildren. My husband, Ansel, owns and manages a soccer store. I am newly retired, but substituting in the school district that I have been a part of for 33 years. My favorite noneducational quote is: "You don't quit playing when you grow old, you grow old when you quit playing!"
