TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Julie’s lessons reflect her vast experience from K to university. The majority of her experience is at the high school level. She is an award winning teacher, listing the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching among her accomplishments. She has taught numerous workshops and created curriculum for North Carolina in mathematics as well as developing strategies for promoting growth among novice teachers. She has served as a department chair, math coach, instructional facilitator, and university supervisor of student teachers; most importantly, however, she is a teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Mrs. Schilawski has an excitement for creating engaging lessons that promote students’ grasp of concepts and challenge students to connect ideas. Common Core Math is really common sense math, skills that accomplished teachers have always used! You will find lessons spanning kindergarten through high school Common Core 2; you will also find guidance for working with student teachers and beginning teachers.
