My first 5 years of teaching were each like "5-1st year teaching" experiences. I switched grade levels 5 years in a row! Yikes! I loved all of them. I truly miss 3rd and 4th grade, but landed in middle school and have taught middle school for 14 years now. I think I have officially become one of them! I started in 4th grade, moved to 3rd, then 2nd, then 8th, then 7th! Exhausting, just thinking about it. After teaching English for 13 years, I finally landed the dream job... Tier II and Tier III Intervention as well as Math Support. I LOVE IT!
I am strict, set clear boundaries, have super high expectations and somewhat rigid routines, but we have SO MUCH FUN that I think it works!
Nominated for Disney Teacher of the Year my first year teaching. (of course this was from an adorable 4th grader, since hitting middle school... not so much :-)
