TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for 20 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to try new things but I am realistic. The only way to survive as a teacher is to do things in the classroom that make the students work harder (often without realizing it!) but do not increase the workload of the teacher. Most of what you will find on my site are lessons and activities that follow this belief. I especially like finding ways to teach regular students advanced topics.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

STAR teacher in two Georgia school systems, 2001 and 2011. Teacher of the Year in a Georgia school system, 2009.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia in 1992. Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2007.
