TEACHING EXPERIENCE

31 years with 1 1/2 years in fourth grade, 22 years in third grade, and 2 years in first grade. I am a mentor, clinical teacher to student teachers, I monitor high school students who want to help in the classroom which includes those who are academically able and those who have special needs. I like sharing and helping others grow. I was an MTSS Educational Specialist. I worked with teachers to provide intervention strategies and activities for students at Tier 1 and Tier 2. I also helped by providing Enrichment activities for all students. I am now the K -5 ELA/SS Specialist. I work with teachers on curriculum and provide support. I model lessons, provide professional development, help in their classroom whatever needs to be done.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like for students to work together in groups to solve problems. I believe that it is important for them to come up with solutions instead of me having to tell them all the answers. I am constantly assessing my students so that I know where they are and what I need to do to further enhance their learning. I also give them opportunities to assess themselves and learn from their successes and mistakes.
