TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an educator for 24 years. My experience includes teaching elementary and middle school students, woking as a gifted resource teacher, and curriculum development at the division level. I have also worked as a consultant, training teachers around the country in curriculum development, differentiation, and best models and practices in instruction. I have presented at the local, state, and national level including the 2011 NAGC Annual Conference.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that students learn best through discovery and hands-on learning. We must ensure that we are exposing students to authentic learning experiences as well as opportunities to collaborate and communicate about their learning. Differentiation is an absolute must in order to ensure we are meeting the needs of all learners. I am an expert in differentiating based on readiness, interest, and learner profile.
