I have student taught in a variety of settings, including an Australian private preschool, a public Montessori, and a public, elementary school. I taught Kindergarten and First Grade in a K-12 school in rural Wisconsin.
My teaching style is primarily student-driven. Playing is learning, especially for young learners. I prefer to set up an environment that encourages and nurtures learning for my students!
In college, I was honored to receive an award as the Outstanding Early Childhood Educator of the Year from my professors. It was a humbling experience to be seen as an exceptional educator by the people I looked up to.
I studied Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I am licensed to teach birth through 11 years.
I am 25 years old and I live with my amazing husband, Josh, in Columbus, Mississippi. He is a pilot in the Air Force and I am continuing to follow my dream as an educator! We have an adorable kitten named Ember and we enjoy watching movies, hanging out with friends, eating good food, and traveling around the area that is new to both of us (we are both from the Midwest!).
