TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught both high school and middle school science in both New Jersey and North Carolina over the past six years. I also enjoy tutoring students one on one and offer help in a variety of subject areas including algebra, geometry, algebra 2, test prep, and writing. I have been tutoring for nearly a decade now.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a science teacher, I love my lessons to be guided by student curiosity and questioning. When students really stop to think about the world around them it is amazing what they can come up with on their own and their ideas often cause me to reflect even more deeply on my lessons! I like to do inquiry-based learning that is hands-on when possible. That said, I also strongly believe that students need time to process and practice what they are learning, which is why you'll find a variety of worksheets in my store designed to reinforce concepts in an easy to follow, yet intellectually challenging manner.
