I work for a large urban school district in a self contained classroom for students in K-5th grades. All of my students are moderately to severely disabled and have a wide variety of abilities. Before working in the school system, I was in charge of a large private, religious based group for children and adults with disabilities. We provided many unique learning opportunities and fun activities.
I strongly believe in using a combination of researched based methodologies (time delay, response cards, repeated trial) along with sensory and hands-on activities.

I have a Master's degree in Special Education and a Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
I was homeschooled from 4th grade until my high school graduation. I have two younger sisters - one who has Cerebral Palsy and one with moderate learning disabilities. Working with them at home growing up, really inspired me to become a special education teacher.
