TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My experience includes several years of teaching reading enrichment classes in a P-5 school. I went into every classroom and taught the whole class using a wide variety of children's literature, writing, and basic skills practice that linked with their curriculum. I also taught first grade for several years, followed by becoming a P-5 reading specialist that worked primarily with struggling first, second and third grade students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Enthusiastic, dynamic, and creative; while always being goal oriented, describes my style best. My discipline is firm, loving, and respectful.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Many of my ideas have been accepted by The Mailbox magazine over several years.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

University of Wisconsin Parkside, BA in sociology with a 1-8 teaching certification, 1992 Carthage College, Kenosha, WI MA in education as a reading specialist, 2008

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am the proud mother of two wonderful children. I currently stay home to take care of them, so I enjoy creating lessons when I have time. My husband is also a teacher, so we like to bounce ideas off each other. My hobbies include singing, reading, gardening, and rubber stamping.
