TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught high school English for 13 years. Currently, I teach Advanced Placement literature and Honors American Literature, but throughout my career, I have taught 9th grade literature, British literature, American literature, and the honors version of all of these classes.

I have presented my various teaching strategies and projects at county-level in-service days on several occasions, and I presented at the AP National Conference in Washington, D.C. in 2010. Additionally, I earned National Board Certification in 2005.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English language Arts Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on integrating the arts.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I work at an "at-risk" high school in one of the Metro Atlanta counties. 77% of our students receive free or reduced lunch, and many of my classroom instruction methods and assessment ideas focus on finding a variety of mediums through which students can prove understanding.
