I am a passionate first-year second grade teacher. My students push me each day to become a greater educator. I am inspired by their immense desire to learn and positive outlook on life. Being able to touch the lives of 24 second graders on a daily basis is such a blessing to me. I feel honored to be their teacher. In the spring of 2013, I completed my student teaching in a third grade classroom. This experience truly prepared me as an educator. I was challenged each day to improve my skill, and I was fortunate to spend 16 weeks soaking it all in of what it mean to be a teacher. Prior to student teaching, I worked as an Out-of-School Time facilitator for a nationally accredited out-of-school time care program. I worked with students ranging in grades kindergarten to fifth grade. I planned and implemented lesson plans, attended countless hours of professional development, implemented academic and behavioral interventions, and maintained centers with child-appropriate learning materials.
I am an educator who enjoys planning activities that involves a great amount of cooperative learning. I believe that students learn best from one another.

I have a husband who I am madly in love with, and we live in a comfy, little home with our dog and cat. I love to read, cook, and spend time with the ones I love. It's quite common to find me at home watching reality television while I grade papers. Some may say that I'm a reality TV junkie! I also strongly believe that each day should begin with a Diet Mountain Dew.
