This is my 18th year of teaching, and I still feel that there's always more to learn! I have taught: PK: 2 years KG: 5 years 1st: 2 years 3rd: 8 years I spent one year as a Language Arts Specialist at my campus, but missed working full-time with students terribly, so I went back to the classroom where I truly belong!
I strive to cultivate independent thinkers and lifelong learners. I believe in providing students with opportunities to inquire and develop their critical thinking skills. I use the "workshop" approach to teach the core academic subjects because it gives them a chance to develop their skills and knowledge while gaining independence at the same time. Finally, I feel that it's important to foster students' social and emotional growth through character education and self-reflection.

I taught for 12 years in the U.S. before moving with my family abroad. After teaching kindergarten and 1st grade at the American International School, Dhaka, Bangladesh for the past 8 years, we have just moved to Suzhou, China, where I now teach 1st grade. I have loved every minute of my overseas adventure! I'm thankful for all of the living and learning experiences I've had.
