TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a School Librarian and Media Specialist at a Private School for Grades PK-6. I have taught for twelve years at the university and community college level, but have been working with elementary age students in research projects since the beginning of my Ph.D. in 2007. I taught middle school English for two years, and I taught elective literature classes for grades 3rd-5th for one semester.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.A. in English and French, an M.A. In Children's Literature, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language, Culture, and Society and specialization in Children's Literature.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My central area of research is the way children's spiritual lives are nurtured through the literature they read. My expertise is in language arts at the elementary and middle school level. However, I also have extensive teaching experience at the university level in both English and Education departments.
