A Bachelor of Graphic Design and a Diploma in Education specialising in Art. I spent 10 years as an illustrator in the education publishing industry. Following, I have had the pleasure of 13 years of teaching as a Visual Arts teacher in a primary school setting and interdisciplinary teaching in the generalist classroom. The past year I have crossed over to teach Year 1/2 students, which I love! In leadership, my focus is on Student Engagement and Wellbeing where I have focused on implementing initiatives for the past 5 years.
Firm, friendly and fair. Wellbeing is at the forefront of my teaching pedagogy and developing strong relationships with students where I can fulfil all of their needs. Of course, I have an arty bent to my planning.
Yet to be added
After completing Year 12 at a technical school where I had the pleasure of focusing mostly on art and design I completed a Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design through Monash University with photography and illustration as my majors. I then went on to complete my Dip Ed through Melbourne University.
I am a sucker for students with special needs. I have a second sense in my ability to understand them and adapt my teaching to suit. Mindfulness is also something I cherish. I love creating handmade jewellery and my own art, whilst I also immerse myself in producing kids books. Four books published through Hinkler Books called 'Funky Things to Draw', 'More Funky Things to Draw', '501 Things to Draw for the Quick Draw Kid' and 'Love to Draw' are available throughout the world.
