I have been a Special Education Teacher for twelve years! Over the course of those years, I gained experience and formal training in effective research-based practices for Special Education. I taught for five years as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher and I have spent the last seven years working in an elementary school that supports students with special learning needs. I have extensive experience in teaching students with mild to profound intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and emotional disabilities.
I utilize student interests to make learning fun and I strive to foster a life long love of education in all children. I am very energetic and take a positive approach to learning. I am excited about my career and in making a difference in a student or colleague’s life. I am a compassionate person which translates into my work. I hope to be a benefit to any students or families that you serve. I have a specific interest in utilizing research-based methodologies to educate students with special learning needs.
