I have spent the last seven years teaching in the same school. My first year teaching was 8th grade math and science. The last 6 years I have taught 7th grade science. Over my seven years of teaching, I have been given a large variety of responsibilities within my school, district and state. These responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching sports and academic team, planning and giving professional development on a variety of topics, and creating a behavior program for our school.
I prefer to use the science book as more of a reference tool then a guide to how I teach. I like to offer my students a variety of ways to learn. I understand that every student has different needs and I try to reach all students through different types of activities for each learning target.
Teacher of the Year 2008-2009 School Year Technology Teacher of the Year 2009-2010 School Year
I graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in middle childhood education (concentrations in math and science). I received my Masters at Georgetown College in Instructional Technology.
I have a passion for not only teaching and learning. It is important for educators to be constantly looking for new tools, experimenting, modifying, and starting the process all over again to make their students responsible.
