I began teaching 5th grade ELA and Social Studies in Sheffield City Schools in June of 2015. In 2016, I married my favorite Aggie and moved to College Station, TX. My second year of teaching brought me to a 5th grade Science classroom in Bryan ISD. In the winter of 2016, my husband's job brought us to Fort Worth, where I began to look for my third classroom. I am currently teaching Kindergarten at Castleberry Elementary, where I will begin my 2nd year in the district and my fourth year of teaching this fall! I currently serve as a curriculum writer for our district, so my products are all directly aligned with standards!
I love to motivate my students with active, hands-on, technology-infused lessons! If you walk into my room, you may catch us in the middle of a learning game, dancing, singing, or making digital products on our iPads. I try to reach all of my diverse learners with a variety of instructional strategies!

My elementary education experience was a combination of public school, homeschool, and private school. I graduated from Athens Bible School in 2011, then went to the University of North Alabama, where I completed my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development in May of 2015. I am certified as an Early Childhood and K-6 teacher in Alabama, as well as an EC-6 Generalist, ESL, and GT teacher in Texas.
Hello, there! I'm Katharine (McGee) Gann, known by little learners and co-workers as Mrs. Gann. I'm a left-handed Alabama native, with a love for learning, creating, and coffee. My wonderful husband, Sawyer, brought me to Texas when we married in 2016, and although I love my life here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, half of my heart will always sing "Sweet Home Alabama" with Lynyrd Skynyrd (Roll Tide Roll)! Aside from my love of working with little learners, I enjoy photography and design, I love to bake and decorate cakes, spend time with family and friends, and listen to good music, especially if it's a live performance! My bags are always packed for a traveling adventure, and I love finding fun things to do in new places. In the summer, you may find me outdoors running, kayaking, or playing soccer. In the winter, I'll either be snuggled up by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate, or out on the snowy slopes of the northern states, shredding powder on a snowboard! I am blessed with an incredible life full of great people, including loving family, amazing friends, and most importantly, my husband, who encourages me to pursue my dreams and believes in me wholeheartedly.
